Dà Mhìle Blended Scotch Whisky

46% ABV. Organic Blended Scotch Whisky

This blended whisky is the only whisky in the world to contain Springbank Single Malt, and not just that that, but the Springbank Single Malt that's the first organic whisky in the world. A truly one-off whisky.

This whisky has been bottled without being chill-filtered, a process that removes much of the flavour, and there is no caramel added for colour uniformity.

Tasting notes from Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2007

Nose: The grain is typically Loch Lomond-ish in its embracing style, wrapping soft arms around flintier, more energetic malt; not exactly a perfect harmony but an endearing overture nonetheless.

Taste: Now the blend comes together with the malt – sharp, mouth-watering, grassy and fresh – battling for independence from the enveloping grain but failing. Lots of complexity and character.

Finish: Waves of soft vanilla and spice sit comfortably with the enduring malt.

Overall: A delicious blend against the odds: the grain and malt were mixed together from what was available from an organic point of view and make for a light, singular but highly attractive style. By no means perfect, but it has worked, perhaps helped by liberal use of Springbank, making this probably the only blend made from organic Springbank that you are ever likely to come across!
