Inspired by the remarkable night skies of rural Wales, Dark Skies Rum is our rich, warming organic rum, distilled at Glynhynod Farm near Llandysul in Ceredigion.
Oak maturation brings notes of vanilla, dried fruit and warming spice – a rum made for slow evenings, good company and, if you're lucky, a sky full of stars.

We released our Dark Skies rum in 2021 in recognition of the Cambrian Mountains Dark Skies initiative. Being on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains, which are one of the best places in the UK to see the stars, we wanted to name our rum in honour of this.
Our Dark Skies Rum is oak matured with hints of vanilla and raisin and just enough sweetness to work well as either a sipping rum, or with a mixer.

The Story Behind Dark Skies Rum
A Rum Born Under the Stars
Dark Skies Rum was created in honour of the Cambrian Mountains Dark Skies initiative and the extraordinary night skies found across this part of Wales.
Away from the glare of towns and cities, a clear night in rural West Wales can reveal an astonishing sky, with stars and the Milky Way stretching overhead.
That landscape, and the importance of protecting darkness for people and wildlife, provided the inspiration for Dark Skies Rum.
Organic Rum Made in West Wales
Dark Skies Rum is distilled at Dà Mhìle Distillery on our family farm, Glynhynod Farm near Llandysul in Ceredigion.
Like the rest of the Dà Mhìle range, it is made using certified organic ingredients and produced in small batches.
Our distillery sits at the heart of a working organic farm, where natural spring water is used in our spirit production and our still is powered by steam generated using timber from the farm woodland.
Oak-Matured for a Richer Character
Dark Skies Rum is matured in oak, allowing the spirit to develop additional depth, colour and character from time spent in wood.
The result is a rich, warming rum with notes of vanilla, dried fruit and warming spice.
It is a style that reflects our wider approach at Dà Mhìle: small-batch production, organic ingredients and a willingness to let maturation add its own character to the finished spirit.
